Robert Half is Hiring a Billing Clerk Near Dexter, MI

Robert Half is currently seeking a dynamic Billing Clerk in the Dexter MI area, with excellent data entry skills to provide support and assist the "billing and order processing team". This position is responsible for generating invoices, credit memos, distributing to customers and identifying, creating, implementing, and maintaining robust processes necessary to ensure accuracy and follow through. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines. This is a long-term opportunity ONSITE role and pays up to $24/hr.
Responsibilities for the Billing Clerk:
Manage account balances to discover outstanding debts or other inconsistencies.
Collect all information needed to calculate bills receivable (order amounts, discount rates etc.)
Check the data input in the accounting system to ensure accuracy of final bill
Issue invoices and bills and sent them to customers through various channels (mail, telephone, e-mail)
Accountable for issuing customer account statements that aligns with compliance and need
Issue customer account statements periodically or whenever necessary
Receive payments through various methods (cash, online payments etc.) and check for credibility
Send reminders for payments and contact customers when assigned
Update accounting records with new payments, balances, customer information etc.
Answer questions and handle complaints from customers regarding bills
Other tasks as requested
Must meet the following qualifications to be considered for the Billing Clerk:
Associate Degree in Accounting or other related field; or High School Diploma with proven and successful experience as a billing clerk
Must be detailed oriented to uncover and resolve any client/vendor issue
Working knowledge of HIPAA, laws and confidentiality compliance related to accounting
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks
Excellent math ability
Successful experience with Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of accounting software
Good organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
